Southbury Juniorettes was established in 2004. Membership is open to any young woman, between 6th grade and 12th grade, who are interested in helping others through volunteer service in cultural, educational and social areas. Members must be residents of Southbury or other surrounding communities that do not have a Juniorettes’ club.
Membership in Juniorettes gives a young woman the opportunity to work with community leaders, other volunteer organizations, and members of her own club. A young woman will learn to develop leadership skills by planning and carrying out projects in a variety of areas. Past Juniorettes have found that their volunteer experience has given them an edge when applying for jobs and to colleges. Most importantly membership in a Juniorette Club gives a young woman the opportunity to increase her self-esteem through helping others.
Juniorettes are proud to raise money and donate funds and needed goods to the Southbury Fuel Bank, Food Bank, and Needy Fund as well as a variety of other local charities and community organizations.
Juniorettes generally meet the third Friday of the month. Meeting locations may vary. Annual dues are $20 along with a $15 fee for a membership t-shirt.
Juniorettes are advised and organized by two members of the Southbury Women’s Club and supported by their parents and guardians. For additional information, please e-mail us at info@southburywomensclub.org
