The Southbury Women's Club is currently accepting applications from graduating seniors who reside in Southbury for a Trade/Apprenticeship or Traditional College/University Scholarship. 

The deadline for submission for the SWC scholarship is emailed or postmarked by Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Details for the Trade/Apprenticeship or Traditional College/University Scholarship are given below.

Award amounts: $500.00

Number of awards given:  Four (4)

• Four awards will be given to a student who resides in Southbury and is applying to a Trade/Apprenticeship or Traditional College/University. 

Student residency requirement:  Must be currently living in Southbury

Financial need requirement?  No, financial need information is NOT wanted nor requested.

Transcript required?  Yes

Who will make the selection of the recipient?  Southbury Women’s Club

Other Eligibility Factors: 

• Must have demonstrated commitment to community service
• Must be graduating and moving on to a Trade/Apprenticeship or a Traditional College/University 

Essay Requirement:  Please answer the following essay prompts:  

• In what way have you served your community? 
• Why did you choose this avenue of community service? 
• How did it affect you and others?

Will the award be made directly to the student or the college?  College/School or Program

Deadline for application/essay submission: Emailed or postmarked by Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

What to Include in the application: 

• Name and Home Address,
• Current School Name and Address
• Intended Field of Study
• School Name and Address for the school/college/program that you plan to attend next year
• Please also inform us in the application if you have been accepted by the school/college/program for which you have applied

When will a decision be made?  A decision will be made by Tuesday, April 30, 2024.  Guidance Counseling offices will be notified of the decision by May 1st.  Recipients will not be contacted directly.  Announcement of awards will be at the discretion of the school.
