15th annual turkey trot

The three non-profit organizations the Turkey Trot supports are The Southbury Food Bank, Southbury Fuel Bank and Southbury Needy Fund. They are in need of financial support now more than ever.  

Turkey Trot (5K)

• The Turkey Trot will commence at 8:30 a.m. sharp, starting on Main Street (in front of 760 Main Street at the Gazebo). Please note that Main Street will be closed at 8:00 a.m., so we kindly ask participants not to line up before this time. The course is an out-and-back route on Main Street South and is USA Track & Field (USATF) certified.
• Race line-up: For everyone's safety, please line up according to your race pace. We suggest slower runners, walkers, and those with strollers to line up towards the back.
• Dogs - Dogs are not permitted on the course.
• Water - While water will be provided at the finish line, we encourage you to bring your own water bottle if you'd like water during the race.
• Restrooms - Maxx365 Fitness and Recovery will not be accessible to race participants. Restroom facilities will be available on Main Street at the start line and in the Maxx365 parking lot.
• Parking - The Maxx365 parking lot will be closed on the morning of the race. Please find alternative parking nearby. Please refrain from parking at the Post Office or Urgent Care. Given that Main Street South will be closed beginning at 8:00 a.m., we strongly recommend arriving prior to 8:00 a.m.

Race Bib and Shirt Pick-up

• Wednesday, November 27th, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Place: Maxx365 Fitness and Recovery (inside), 730 Main Street South       
• As previously communicated on our registration site and Facebook page, participants who registered by November 1st will receive a race shirt.
• If you plan to pick up on race day, please arrive no later than 8:00 a.m. If you are collecting multiple bibs/shirts, please bring your own bag.
• Children2Children will be collecting gently used clothes and shoes for children of all ages at packet pick-up Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Kid’s Fun Run

• The Kid’s Fun Run will start at the entrance to Maxx365 (behind the building).  Please arrive no later than 7:50 a.m.  The race will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. In person registration for the Kid’s Fun Run will be available at Maxx365 at bib pick-up and on race day from 7:15 a.m. - 7:45 a.m.

Awards

• To enable our speedy winners to start their Thanksgiving celebrations with their families earlier, we have decided not to hold an awards ceremony following the race.  Instead, winners can collect their awards as soon as they receive notification of their results on their phones. We aim to notify top finishers of their official results and placements by 9:15 a.m.
