The Southbury Women’s Club, in partnership with the Earl W. and Hildagunda A. Brinkman Private Charitable Foundation, has launched Respond, Repair, Rebuild (RRR): Farm Relief Initiative. This program offers vital financial aid to Southbury farms affected by the August 18-19, 2024 floods.
To be eligible for gifting through this initiative, your farm must be a farm that produces agriculture or produces and sells agricultural products.
The following process is required to be completed by each Farm prior to receiving the gift from the Southbury Women's Club:
1. Any Farms interested in completing the process for the RRR: Farm Relief Initiative will be required to send an email with the form below containing the name of the Farm, address of the Farm, telephone number or email for the contact at the Farm.
2. Upon receipt of the contact email, the RRR: Farm Relief Initiative Committee will reach out to the Farm (a direct contact will be provided to the Farm) with a Request Form and Overview document of Eligibility, Process and Terms for review. The Farm will be required to fully complete the Request Form, agree to the terms and provide pictures, estimates on damages, and any additional documentation for the impact of the flood on the Farm.
3. Once the RRR: Farm Relief Initiative Committee has reviewed all submitted information and images from the Farm, the Farm will be required to agree to a site-visit by the RRR: Farm Relief Initiative Committee along with the representative from the Foundation.
4. Following the review of the information provided and site visit, the RRR: Farm Relief Initiative Committee will deliberate on the appropriate amount of the donation to the Farm.
5. Prior to receiving the gift, the Farm will be required to submit a fully signed Form W-9 and Gift Agreement (which will be provided to the Farm) for the Southbury Women's Club.
The RRR: Farm Relief Initiative Committee is trying to get the gifts out to the Farms as soon as possible. Therefore, please be sure to complete the questionnaire and submit your documentation as soon as possible.
Of course, please do not hesitate to contact the Southbury Women's Club if you need any assistance.
